Alderwasley Hall School and Sixth Form
Welcome to Alderwasley Hall School and Sixth Form. We are exceptionally proud of every aspect of our school and homes, from the academic and social achievement of our learners, to the outstanding specialist intervention and support we can provide for young people in our classes and our care.
The school is set in rural Derbyshire with close transportation links to the diverse cities of Derby and Sheffield and we specialise in working with young people with severe and complex Speech, Language and Communication Needs incorporating High Functioning Autism. We have over 25 years of nationally recognised skill and experience within the educational field of ASD and Communication and our team of Speech and Language Therapists and Occupational Therapists is one of the largest in any school across the country. This, alongside our Mental Health Team provides us with an unrivalled level of expertise.

Bladon House School
Bladon House School is an inspiring school for children and young people aged 5 to 19 years. We are at the forefront in our field of expertise of autism, communication disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. Through our work we have also developed skills in achieving significant progress and successful outcomes for children and young people with Prader Willi Syndrome.
As an independent special school we are registered and inspected by Ofsted and are able to offer flexible day and residential placements ranging from 38 to 52 weeks. Children and young people are placed with us from across the UK. We are also able to consider young people from overseas.
We are able to offer a range of placement options including:
- Day Placements
- 52 weeks residential – Full residential care; our sites are registered children’s homes
- 38 week residential – Part time residential care
- 39 to 51 week residential – where there is a need to provide additional residential support to meet the needs of the young person and their family

Aran Hall School
Aran Hall School provides flexible 38 to 52 week residential care with education to children and young people with a range of learning disabilities and autistic spectrum disorders, both with associated severe challenging behaviour.
By providing care and education on the same site we ensure that children’s individual programmes are delivered consistently. Our focus is to provide a safe, stable and nurturing environment where young people’s skills and aspirations can be encouraged to develop.
We develop education, care and behavioural management programmes for each student. These programmes are evidence based which enable us to demonstrate students achievements. We are a leader in conducting and publishing clinical research that evaluates the effectiveness of the innovative programmes we run.

Rowden House School
Rowden House School provides individualised care and education programmes for children and young people aged 11 to 19 years, with severe learning disabilities and challenging behaviour.
We are able to offer a range of placement options including:

Our facilities and collective knowledge and expertise enable us to guide our youngsters through long term programmes of formal and informal education and development. We encourage all our children to develop a positive self-image, promoting their ability to express their personal preferences through informed choice. This develops confidence enabling people to realise their full potential and grow into happy and healthy adults.

Maple View School
Maple View School is situated in the heart of Mackworth, a suburb of Derby, with great transport links to a wide range of amenities in the city as well as access to parks and countryside. We have a large enclosed garden providing a safe and secure environment for the children. The school is purpose built with light, airy and flexible education spaces, the residential home is modern, spacious and homely, all making Maple View a fantastic place to live and learn.
We provide individualised education and care programmes for children aged 7-16 with a range and complexity of needs including:
- Autistic Spectrum Conditions
- Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties and Disabilities
- Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties
- Associated behavioural difficulties
- Prader Willi Syndrome
We are also able to facilitate children who have mobility issues
We offer Day or 52 week residential placements, we may also consider term time residential placements. Our multi-disciplinary approach, with Education and Care working together as one team, ensures that all areas of children’s Education Health Care Plans (EHCPs) are met on-site.

Pegasus School
Pegasus School is situated in the village of Caldwell, five miles from Burton on Trent on the borders of Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. The School occupies a beautiful Georgian building in several acres of space which provides a safe and interesting environment in which to live and learn.
We provide education and care for children and young people between the ages of 8 and 19 years. Children placed with us have a range and complexity of needs including:
- Autism and Autistic Spectrum Disorders
- Severe learning difficulties
- Speech, language and communication difficulties
- Pathological Demand Avoidance
- Oppositional Defiant Disorder
- Challenging behaviour
- Mental health issues
We offer flexible day and residential placements ranging from 38 to 52 weeks. We can also offer short breaks and extended days for those placed with us.
We have a multi-disciplinary team approach which includes Teachers, Therapists, Care Staff and Specialist Support Staff and you as parents and carers. This ensures that all areas of our students’ Education, Health and Care Plans (EHC) are met. We are praised by Ofsted for our targeted and coordinated way of working which means students develop in all areas and means we meet our objective of increasing young people’s independence.
