Mary Kidson
Mary Kidson is the proprietor of Smart Processing. She has been a Fast ForWord® provider for over eight years. During that time she has helped many children and adults with varying degrees of autism and other difficulties improve their processing of information, particularly their auditory processing skills. She has also helped them with reading, understanding language, memory and general academic work.
Fast ForWord
Fast ForWord is a computer gamed-based program that addresses root causes of reading and processing difficulties. A student works on the program five days a week for 30 minutes at each session. Full support is provided via telephone and e-mail and Skype if appropriate. Weekly reports are provided and interventions when necessary. This all helps to ensure that a student progresses through the modules in a timely and efficient manner. Mary often works with schools (for individual students), working with SENCOs, teachers, learning support assistants and speech therapists.

The Listening Program
Mary is also a provider of The Listening Program®. The Listening Program is a world-renowned course of psychoacoustically modified classical music and nature sounds that progressively fine-tune the auditory sensory system. To put it simply, it teaches your brain how to fully listen, hear and understand. It can be used at home, school, work (anywhere) and it is suitable for all ages.
The Listening Program helps with all/any of the following:
- finding it hard to hear with background noise?
- finding it hard to stay focused and take in what’s being said?
- being oversensitive to loud and sudden noises?
- feeling hyperactive or unable to settle and concentrate?
