Tony Attwood on Autism – The Cognitive Profile

Charity the Association for Child and Adolescent Mental Health is proud to present leading authority on Autism, Professor Tony Attwood, offering practical, accessible, advice and tips for you and your child. In this session Tony looks at ‘The Cognitive Profile Associated with Autism’.
How can you spot which learning styles will benefit? What are the best ways to motivate? How do we adapt the school curriculum, and therapies, to benefit children?
This session explores the profile of cognitive abilities associated with autism, and how the school curriculum, and therapies, can be modified.
Discover how to identify associated autistic learning styles based on abilities and difficulties with processing visual/linguistic information, processing time, executive functioning, and the need to seek patterns and systems.
Additionally, you will learn ways of improving motivation, coping with errors, specific learning disorders, and social cohesion in group activities.
