Tiimo – a new web-platform and assistive app that provides visual guidance, structure and independence to those affected by autism – has launched in the UK.
Tiimo, a Copenhagen-based company, has developed a smart, non-stigmatising and accessible solution that can be used on smartphones, tablets and smartwatches operating on iOS and Android.
Help with time and routine
The app provides children and young adults with autism with an assistive tool, helping them comprehend and adhere to the concept of time and maintain a routine.
A discrete digital solution, it gives the user an overview of planned activities for each day, as inputted by the parent or guardian.
It features countdown timers to better comprehend time allocation, and encouraging visual reminders, promoting focus and stability for both the child and the family.
1,200 families using it already
Tiimo was founded in 2015 and has been designed and developed in collaboration with families and experts, to address the very specific needs of children and adolescents with autism.
The app launched in Denmark in February 2018, reaching 1,200 customers and great reviews in the first 14 months. It has already seen the first users from the UK and US sign up.
“This app has not only saved my son, but the whole family. Tiimo has created a sense of peace, so everyday life can be managed again. It works great and is super easy to set up. huge fan of Tiimo. THANK YOU!”

A beautiful and functional app
Tiimo’s research defines a successful digital tool as having pleasing visuals, the facility to personalise, the potential to improve daily routines, as well as a design that can be used by both parent and child.
“Most existing solutions today are outdated, analogue, stigmatising and non-mobile, while the tech that does exist is just ugly and very non-functional. We are designing a beautiful and functional product, that users love, and that has the potential to create a tremendous positive impact. And we are happy the app is now available to the 700,000 people affected by autism in the UK,” says Helene Nørlem, Co-founder and CEO of Tiimo.
The Tiimo app is compatible with smartphones, smartwatches, tablets, desktops or internet browsers, and is priced at £8.99 per month, following a one-month free trial period. With one membership you create multiple schedules for the whole family, use it on multiple devices and get access to customer support.
