About Salisbury Support 4 Autism
We specialise in supporting individuals with complex needs and challenging behaviour
We offer specifically designed services to people with autistic spectrum disorder who require care and support in a progressive, life-long learning environment.
Our supported living services offer individuals the support they require to live as independently as possible. Individuals are supported to access the community and increase their independence and social skills.
We help them to develop lifelong skills such as cooking, managing finances and caring for themselves. We also help them to gain employment and/or access college courses of their choosing.
We recognise that some individuals choose to remain in their family home. They or their family may, however, need respite from time to time. We provide respite that ranges from a single day to a few weeks.
The outreach we provide offers individuals 1:1 support to access the community. It can support individuals to develop domestic skills or go to gigs, festivals, restaurants or the cinema – to name just a few of the options.
We also provide leisure services that give individuals the opportunity to access social and leisure groups in the local areas on weeknights, weekends and during the daytime in half-term.
Our Salisbury Support 4 Autism staff
All our services are led by managers and are supported by a staff team. These teams are experienced and trained, with many of the staff team holding degrees in areas such as psychology and occupational therapy.
Our team of experts include a behaviour specialist, an occupational therapist, a skills development co-ordinator and art and music therapists. They provide behavioural and autism-specific consultancy and training for carers, professionals and external companies.
The training we offer encompasses issues such as challenging behaviour and communication systems such as PECS, visual aids and Makaton.
