In these unprecedented times Ruskin Mill Trust’s centres have remained open. Much of the educational experience we offer is outside in the natural world, in our biodynamic gardens, farms and woodlands. Never before has the Trust been so open and engaged in ensuring everyone’s wellbeing.
Two new centres – Grace Garden School and Trigonos
Our constant attention to our children and students’ needs has led the Trust to add two new centres to the organisation.
Grace Garden School is set in 18 acres of cultivated landscape in Westbury on Trym, Bristol. The school offers education to children between the ages of 9-16 with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties including autism spectrum conditions.
Grace Garden School will run a contemporary learning approach incorporating a number of aspects of the National Curriculum including maths and English. Other activities will include horticulture, textiles, pottery, catering, food production and processing, music and drama, and living skills.
Referrals are being taken now by contacting Admissions@rmt.org.
Opportunity for further education and real work experience
Trigonos is an 18-acre estate set in a quiet Snowdonian valley in North West Wales. The Trust’s association with Trigonos offers the opportunity for further education and, importantly, real work experience for our students as they come to the end of their courses at our colleges.
The centre operates as a venue for workshops, events, retreats, and bed and breakfast, accommodating up to 32 people. This is a unique opportunity for students with additional learning needs who wish to gain qualifications in the hospitality and catering industry as well as our biodynamic market garden. Please contact Admissions@rmt.org for further information.
Ruskin Mill Trust’s centres base their curriculum on our research-led Practical Skills Therapeutic Education approach to human development, established through more than 30 years of the Trust’s work with children and young people with special needs.
