Galicia, tucked up in the northwest of Spain, just above Portugal, an Atlantic coastal commune, full of rounded hills and low mountains, rivers and firths. This is Go Beyond’s home for the summer, a place for you to invigorate your senses and reconnect to nature with Discover the Beauty of Spain supported holiday.
We will be exploring the local Galician region through many imaginative ways. Travelling to an island by boat, which according to The Guardian has the best beaches in the world. Riding on horseback through the soft hills near to Santiago de Compostela. Visiting the town of Santiago de Compostela and, of course, the famous cathedral that is reputed to house the remains of James the Great Apostle. The cathedral is also the end of the famous pilgrim route Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James).
There are also some fabulous tours with tour guides, including a 7-stop trip to the north coast, taking in Finisterre and the Costa da Morte, a trip from Santiago de Compostela to Ribeira Sacra, which includes a boat trip in the Sil Canyon, whose scenery is considered to be the most beautiful in Galicia. Finally, a trip to the beaches of Catedrais, where we will walk through natural rocky archways and coves, has been declared a National Monument. A fun-filled holiday with lots to do and see.
