We are determined to increase awareness and understanding of autism with a programme of education and information.
Our series of campaigns have been designed to guide the neuro-typical community about all aspects of living with autism:
- How life experiences of autistic people are different, but also, in many ways, the same and as individual as yours and mine
- How real-life events and experiences and everyday situations can be improved for everyone
- How understanding autism can lead to amazing opportunities for both neuro-diverse and neuro-typical individuals.
Our latest campaign
The latest campaign – ‘My Autistic Self’ – features interviews with a diverse group of autistic individuals and how certain characteristics and traits are essential for them in relieving stress and exhaustion.
Told in their own words, the real-life experiences of our students, teachers, therapists and parents cover topics such as stimming, masking, sensory sensitivities, non-speaking communication, shutting down, and floating focus.
We have compiled this into one document as a source of reference for anybody wanting to learn more about autism.
Whether you are a parent, grandparent, friend or colleague, this guide will be invaluable in learning more about how a person on the autism spectrum tackles everyday life. To get your copy click here.
Exclusion, stress and exhaustion
We believe it is only by educating others that we can provide an insight into the exclusion, stress and exhaustion many autistic individuals face every single day, and drive greater understanding, awareness and acceptance.
Autism Unlimited exists to support and empower autistic children, adults and their families. We partner with them to find solutions and provide educational and life skills training.
From bespoke education for children to independent living skills and career guidance for adults, we ensure that all the people we support find their passion, a route to their dreams and a rich and fulfilled life.
