What is Brick Club?
We know from research that play is fundamental to children’s positive development. Research has shown that Lego®-based Therapy (on which the Brick-by-Brick® Programme is founded) has a positive impact on social communication and emotional well-being in young people on the autism spectrum.
The Brick-by-Brick® Programme was developed by Play Included C.I.C and is founded on the methodology of Lego®-based Therapy.
It is an updated version, developed in partnership with The LEGO® Foundation. In the Brick-by-Brick® Programme, resources and training have been enhanced to integrate learning through play and to encourage playful facilitation.
Formerly known as LEGO®-based therapy, the Brick-by-Brick® programme brings young people together to make friends and develop skills over a shared interest in LEGO® play.
Brick Club (as it’s known to children) supports its members to collaborate, communicate, problem-solve and share fun experiences, all through collaborative LEGO® play.
Play Included’s Brick-by-Brick® programme is officially endorsed by the LEGO® Foundation.
It is the latest thinking in social skills therapy using LEGO® play.
The details
We will be running Brick Clubs for Year 1 to Year 3-aged children. These will take place in small groups, and groups are supported by highly trained facilitators.
All Hatchlings London staff have been trained under the licenced training developed by Play Included, partners of the LEGO® Foundation. You do not need to be a current Hatchlings London client to attend our Brick Club.
Are you a parent?
We run our own Hatchlings Brick Clubs as an after-school club between 4-5pm in central London.
Are you a school?
We work with schools in and around central London to support and facilitate in-school clubs. This can be set up with a small group of children during lunch times, playtimes or after school.
