A more relaxed environment
Relaxed performances are open to everyone, but particularly support children with additional needs. They are primarily designed to support people with autism, learning difficulties, or other sensory and communication needs by providing a more relaxed environment in which to experience a show.
At a relaxed performance, it’s OK to move around, make noise or leave the auditorium.
We provide a free visual story to help you prepare for the visit, the story and the themes in the show.
For the performance itself, we make the house lights a little brighter, soften any loud and surprising noises and remove or amend any moments of audience interaction.
We also provide a ‘chill-out’ space so you have the option to be in a quiet room before, during or after the performance.

I Wish
Meet the Wish Giver, who journeys into a fairy-tale world of hopes, dreams and unintended consequences… This fantastical, playful one-person show, filled with song, tells a new fable for our times – one of self-discovery, acceptance and joy.
I Wish is co-created and performed by internationally acclaimed theatre artist and singer Le Gateau Chocolat, co-created with Unicorn’s Artistic Director Rachel Bagshaw, with original music and lyrics by Seiriol Davies.

The Odyssey
You’ve heard of Odysseus, but this is an entirely different story… meet his adventurous son Telemachus, who can’t wait any longer for his dad to return and sets sail on a really, really, really long journey on stormy seas and across strange lands!
You’ll be enchanted by this musical adventure, set to a 60s soul and pop-inspired soundtrack.

The Princess and The Pea
In a lavish palace, there lives a pampered princess who has everything her heart desires.
Each day, three loyal servants attend to her every wish and whim. But one dark and stormy night, she ventures beyond her palace walls and everything changes…
Breathtaking acrobatics, clowning, and fairy-tale adventure combine in this funny and playful remix of Hans Christian Andersen’s classic story.
A Unicorn co-production with New Vic Theatre and leading contemporary circus company Upswing.
