We’re Evolve. We are a psychology and neurodevelopmental service, specialising in assessing for ADHD, autism and dyslexia (dyscalculia coming soon).
Because we believe that a good understanding of neurodiversity improves the lives of neurodivergent people, our expert clinicians have also developed a Skills Hub that hosts digital learning modules from Evolve Skills & Research Academy. These are digital learning experiences in your own time, with around one hour of content that’s interactive and engaging.

Evolve was founded by Dr Laura Powling, a clinical psychologist, more than a decade ago, to offer an expert service with care, attention and empathy at its heart. Our mission is to make a difference by supporting people through their journey in assessment and empowering them to move forward.
Assessment
Whether you visit one of our clinics in Exeter, Harrogate, Huddersfield, Newcastle, Norwich, or Dublin, or have a digital assessment, you will feel seen, heard, and taken care of throughout the neurodevelopmental assessment.
Our hand-picked multi-disciplinary teams are committed to making every appointment as comfortable as possible for you and, in the case of parents, for your child.
Sharing many years of experience from within the NHS, our clinicians provide assessments in accordance with the gold-standard NICE (National Institute for Health & Care Excellence) guidelines.
We help reduce waiting lists for assessments for neurodiversity, as Evolve is an accredited provider of ADHD and autism assessments through the NHS Right to Choose programme. Self-funded, private screening and assessments are also available.
Our dyslexia assessment service is currently available digitally (remotely) and at our Exeter, Harrogate and Huddersfield clinics.
Learning
Designed with your needs in mind, the new digital experiences from Evolve Skills & Research Academy offer practical strategies grounded in high-quality research. They are for people with a diagnosis, those who are exploring their neurodiversity, and for people caring for others who are neurodivergent.
What’s involved?
Our digital learning experiences are creative and engaging, full of animations and information. You will also hear from our clinicians and people with lived experience. We explore the facts and debunk the myths, and look at the strengths and challenges neurodivergence can bring.
The one-hour-long, self-learning modules include:

- Introduction to Autism for Parents
- Introduction to ADHD for Adults
- Introduction to Autism for Adults
A module for those who have both autism and ADHD will be available from October.
