Edgewood School in Northampton has welcomed its first pupils this month.
The school specialises in working with children aged 7 to 16 years who have autism, moderate to severe learning difficulties, speech, language and communication difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties. It offers day and residential placements.
SENAD’s latest school
Edgewood is the newest school operated by the SENAD Group, which has six other specialist schools in England and Wales.
The rich, varied, ambitious and carefully planned curriculum will prepare pupils for the next steps in their lives. Each child’s programme is individualised to meet their specific needs, enabling them to access learning and successfully meet their goals.
The school is purpose-built with light, airy and flexible education spaces designed to meet the pupils’ social, educational and sensory needs.
Safe and interesting environment
The school is adjacent to a large play area, skate park, football pitches and footpaths through woodland. In addition, it has enclosed outside spaces that provide safe, interesting and stimulating environments for the pupils to play and learn.
