Based in Shropshire, Derwen College offers an exceptionally vibrant, inclusive and positive environment, delivering exceptional programmes, including vocational and independence training, for 16 to 25-year-olds with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
Queen’s Award for Enterprise
Derwen College has its own public-facing ‘Marketplace’ including a garden centre, café, restaurant, charity shop and its very own hotel! Here, students gain real-life work skills increasing their chances for employment and independent living post-college.
In 2022, the College was honoured to receive the Queen’s Award for Enterprise for Promoting Opportunity. It has a dedicated Duke of Edinburgh’s Awards Outdoor Centre, is accredited by the National Autistic Society, and is Makaton-friendly.
