At the RSC, we offer a range of assisted performances for our productions, including performances with integrated British Sign Language interpretation where the interpreter is directed as part of the action onstage, Audio Description, captioned performances, relaxed and chilled performances and performances with hand-held captioning devices.
We also offer touch tours ahead of some of our audio-described performances. Supporting resources for our shows include a sonic story highlighting key sounds throughout the performance, audio notes, a Content Advisory with detailed information on the themes and content of a show, and a filmed BSL synopsis.
In June we have three shows across our theatres: The Merry Wives of Windsor and The School for Scandal in our Royal Shakespeare Theatre and Kyoto in our Swan Theatre.
Uproarious tale of mischief
Running from 5 June to 7 September, The Merry Wives of Windsor is Blanche McIntyre’s fresh new production of Shakespeare’s suburban comedy. An uproarious tale of mischief and double-dealing, where the women get the last laugh.
Fast-paced political thriller
From 18 June to 19 July, award-winning directors Stephen Daldry and Justin Martin (Stranger Things: The First Shadow) will reunite with writers Joe Murphy and Joe Robertson following their acclaimed collaboration on The Jungle for Kyoto, a timely and fast-paced political thriller placing you right at the heart of the historic 1997 Kyoto climate summit.
Exhuberant feast of big wigs and laughs
Sheridan’s brilliantly biting comedy The School for Scandal will hit the stage of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre from 2 July to 6 September. This new production, styled to the nines with period flair, promises an exuberant feast of big wigs and even bigger laughs. Tinuke Craig, Artistic Associate at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith, directs.
