Established in 2002 and with internationally renowned clinical expertise, Hopscotch Therapy Centre is the leading London clinic specialising in Sensory Integration (SI) Therapy. Directed by Dimitrios Mylonadis MScOT (paediatrics), Hopscotch has therapy suites in central (Harley Street) and North (North Finchley), London.
Sensory Integration Therapy is a form of occupational therapy involving the use of suspended equipment in a sensory rich environment. It is often recommended for children on the autistic spectrum, many of whom have problems with the processing of sensory information (information received from the senses and from the environment).
Treatment is fun and motivating and can lead to improvements in behaviour, concentration, balance and coordination, fine and gross motor skills, personal organisation and speech, social and academic skills. Sensitivities to touch, movement, sights or sounds can also be improved.
Hopscotch Therapy Centre assesses children using a range of standardised assessments. An individualised treatment plan is then developed and delivered by an experienced SI therapist. Therapy suites are modern and friendly and furnished with state-of-the-art equipment.
Hopscotch Therapy Centre works closely with children and their families, offering advice and support throughout the process. They also advise schools on how best to support the child’s learning. Hopscotch can also help families through the process of gaining a statement of SEN for their child, by providing specialist reports and attending SEN tribunals.
They run workshops for parents and professionals interested in knowing more about SI and are recognised as a provider of high-quality training and mentoring services within the occupational therapy profession.
