None of this has changed – just our name.
All our clients still get to work with the same trusted team, with the same quality and commitment you are used to.
Getting the best for people with autism
Access to the right support is central to helping children and adults with autism thrive and live fulfilling lives with utmost independence. Sadly, as you may already know, it can be like fighting an uphill battle – this is where we come in.
We help by making sure people with autism and all forms of SEN are able to get the education and care they need to make a positive and prosperous future a reality.
Our Education and Community Care team at Simpson Millar have proven expertise helping people with autism with complex and wide-ranging issues. This could be helping parents secure the correct Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) for their child, to securing appropriate care provisions for autistic adults.
Speaking out
This year we will be presenting, “Navigating the Minefield — how Statements SHOULD be Converted into EHC Plans” at all three shows at each Saturday event.
With the introduction of Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP), it is intended that ‘Statements of Special Needs’ will be gradually phased out. Statements cannot simply be transferred into a new EHCP. Local Authorities will be required to undergo a ‘transfer review’ before changing a Statement into an EHCP.
No child or young person should lose their Statement and not have it replaced by an EHCP, simply because the system is changing. It is inevitable that this process may give rise to difficulties for both children and parents. Our expert speakers will be giving their qualified opinions on what should happen and how best you can prepare for the conversion so your child doesn’t lose out.
