Autistic girls – and how to support them in school
Sarah-Jane Critchley, Founder – Different Joy Partnership
Autistic girls often fly under the radar at school. Many struggle in class and at school are not seen by school staff who may think they are ‘Fine in School’. Girls are less likely to be identified, diagnosed and supported than boys. Without a supported environment, girls will mask their difficulties with a profound impact on their academic performance, school attendance and mental health. In this seminar Sarah-Jane will share how to interpret how autistic girls present, from an insider perspective; specific issues they face and explore specific curriculum ideas to reduce their vulnerability.
Empowering Neurodivergent Learners through the use of AI
Anne Sheppee, Neurodiversity consultant
Fee Kempton, Ed Tech Consultant
This seminar looks at how AI can remove barriers to learning both in and out of the classroom and, by using innovative and practical strategies to empower neurodivergent learners. Both the challenges and opportunities this brings within the context of current education policy and demands of the class teacher will be addressed. They will explore a range of AI-powered applications supporting pupils with areas such as time management, reading and organisation.
