Our CPD-accredited Autism Champions course is running again, with Zoom training starting on 9 September 2021. Please book by 31 August 2021.

Autism Champions can cascade the learning to their teams, colleagues and organisations making it a cost-effective way of spreading autism awareness and understanding.

The two-day course continues to run slightly differently because of COVID-19 restrictions and will continue in this new format during 2021.

The dates and process are as below.

Content

The content remains the same as the face-to-face course; however, Day One is now delivered through the eLearning CPD Accredited course. You can find this at https://www.autismspectrumcondition.com/

You would need to complete this and show evidence of your Certificate before moving onto “Day Two”, which is via Zoom and delivered in three parts. The content of both “Day One” (eLearning) and “Day Two” (Zoom in three parts) is as below:

The Zoom dates for September are 9th, 16th and 23rd and will run from 1.00 pm to 3.00 pm.

Day One Content (online course)

1. Autism legislation, statutory guidance and values
2. Introduction to autism spectrum conditions
3. Autism and social communication
4. Autism, rigidity and repetitiveness
5. Autism and sensory differences
6. Autism and behaviour
7. Supporting an autistic individual using a person-centred approach

Day Two Content (interactive via Zoom in three parts)

1. Exercises to underpin Day One learning
2. Your own learners
3. Environment
4. Learning styles
5. How to personalise the information through stories and exercises

Cost

The cost of the Autism Champions/Train the Trainer is now £209 pp including VAT, which is 40% lower than the face-to-face course.

Certificates

Learners who have completed both Days One and Two receive electronically an Autism Champions certificate and a half-day PowerPoint course they can use to cascade learning within their own organisation (they will already have received a separate certificate for the Day One content).

Both the eLearning Day One course and the full Autism Champions course are CPD accredited.
