Precious Homes, a leading provider of care and support for people with autism and complex needs, is set to open three new services – bringing their total to 42 across the UK.
With more than 25 years of experience, Precious Homes specialises in providing innovative, person-centred support which is focused on increasing independence and community integration.
The company has won a host of awards for the design of its services and the high-quality, person-centred care provided.
Award-winning services
The new services, which are located in Dudley, are based on the style of the company’s award-winning services at Swan Court, Falcon Mews and Robins View in Birmingham.
This tiered service model offers pathways of support for people as they develop their independence, with supported living plus and supported living services on the same site.
This model is proven to reduce anxiety and ease the transition as independence increases and support decreases.
All three services also have access to an on-site cafe that is ideal for socialising, developing life-skills and providing an all-important link with the local community.
Bright and modern homes
Greg Lapham, CEO of Precious Homes, explains: “The new services have been developed in partnership with Golden Lane Housing, a leading social housing landlord for people with a learning disability, in response to demand for this type of bespoke care in the local area.
“We’ve worked hard to create bright and modern homes, which are fully equipped to be accessible to all and can be tailored to meet the individual needs of the people we support.”
Homely environment
Inside, the services have been carefully designed to provide a safe yet homely environment for the people that will live and work there. Rounded corners on walls and sinks, worktops and hobs that raise and lower to meet the needs of the user give a clear indication that the buildings have been redeveloped to exacting specifications, with safety, accessibility and independence at its heart.
The functional approach is balanced by interior design themes which take inspiration from the town’s farming and industrial history, from a farmhouse theme with wooden furniture and uplifting artwork in one building to an industrial theme in the other.
High-quality, personalised support
Greg concludes: “Our focus is 100% on the delivery of high quality, personalised support and state-of-the-art provision for the people we support. That includes ensuring we find the right balance between functional and welcoming, friendly and stimulating spaces. These new services allow us to extend the reach of our provision and our ethos into a new area. We’re extremely excited to be taking the next step on our journey, with more services due to open later in the year.”
Open day on 5 March
Those wishing to take a look around the new services are invited to join the team at the open day on the 5th March.
