The new Freeman College, Access to Higher Education Course in Art and Design, could be the answer.
This Level 3 OCN qualification prepares SEND learners, without traditional qualifications, for study at University.
An Education Learning Co-ordinator and a Personal Tutor will monitor progress throughout and provide regular support and advice to help with both personal and academic challenges.

The course is designed for:
- People with an interest in art and/or design.
- People who, because of social, educational or individual circumstances, were unable to participate in or benefit from initial education, including SEND and additional needs.
- People from groups under-represented in higher education.
- People seeking a change of direction because of unemployment or lack of career opportunities in their previous field and who have a demonstrable interest in entering an art and design-related profession.
- People in receipt of an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP)
Entry Qualifications
There are no standard entry qualifications; however, you will need a portfolio of work and demonstrate that you can cope with the demands of the course and that you have sufficient motivation to succeed.
You should also demonstrate a suitable level of proficiency in Maths and English.
International students should provide evidence of IELTS results.
